Aisa's Goblet (Atropa Illicia) — Archespore & Sarlacc inspired creature, a plant-like monster

Aisa's Goblet is the first creature I designed, sculpted, and painted during the Gnomon — School of Visual Effects, Games and Animation, course with Madeleine Spencer — Creature Modelling and Sculpting. It's inspired by the Archespore creature from the Witcher games and the Sarlacc from the Star Wars films.

Aisa's Goblet (Atropa Illicia)

Etymology

Atropa (Atropos) — lit., "she who cannot be turned aside" — is a metaphor for death and one of the Three Fates, goddesses of fate and destiny, in reference to the creature's extreme toxicity.
Illicia: Seductive, referring to fragrance. Aisa is another name for Atropos.

Description:

Aisa's Goblet is a large, carnivorous, nomadic, sentient, hybrid creature. Its structure can be described as a rosette of muscular, ventral feet, which arise from a large subterranean stem. Just above the feet, grow mouths with bands of large at the front and smaller teeth at the back. The smaller teeth are called a radula, also found in gastropods. The radula scrapes up, or rasps, food particles cut up by the larger band of teeth. Mouths also contain glands that excrete nectar. Above the mouth arise sensorial tentacles with sockets holding purple-colored, sphere-shaped sensing organs. The pitcher flower is located at the very top of the stem, from which reproductive organs arise.

Habitat:

Atropa Illicia is found in nitrogen- and phosphorus-poor environments, such as bogs, wet savannahs, or deserts. It can survive in very humid and very dry climates due to its ability to rehydrate.

Carnivory:

The creature excretes sweet, fragrant nectar that attracts other creatures, leading to their demise. The substance affects the neurological system of the victims, which prevents them from escaping even when eaten alive, which is why its archaic name found in older tomes was Tarda Mors (lit. slow death).

Life Cycle:

Their mating season happens every 86 human years. The reproductive system is similar to those in plants, with the flower containing a stamen (male), pistils (female), or both. Once pollinated, the mother grows roots, and the pitcher flower ripens into a black, shiny fruit full of seeds. The fruit drops and the creature dies, releasing a pool of black nectar. Both fruit and black nectar are valued substances. The fruit is fine to consume by other creatures for only 24 hours after it drops, making it one of the most desired and expensive delicacies. If the fruit remains intact, the seeds bury themselves into the dead plant and sprout while absorbing the nutrients from it. Once sprouts reach the size of a medium canine and reach the larvae phase, they grow a radula, a pair of digging forelimbs. They release the roots and live a subterranean lifestyle, eating underground insects and creatures until they reach the nymph phase, in which their digging limbs drop, the larvae reattach themselves to the ground and start growing feet. The original nymph's mouth morphs into a flower bud, and the stem begins growing other organs and mouths, and nectar vessels begin to show. The sensing organs appear. Once a rosette of four ventral feet matures, the creature detaches itself from the ground once again. It begins a nomadic lifestyle, reaches full maturity, and the cycle begins.

Strengths: very hard to kill; not susceptible to cuts; cuts heal almost instantly.

Weaknesses: Nectar is highly volatile; the smallest explosion can trigger the entire plant to explode.
